Agencies responsible for federal lands should make their employees aware of the legislative and budget processes on Capitol Hill thereby empowering them to effectively implement federal policy in the field.

The Woods Institute has been preeminent in providing this awareness for federal employees over the past twenty-five years and many of our participants now occupy senior roles in Federal agencies.

In 2018, The Woods Institute will deliver this knowledge via three methods:

Webinars, typically an hour in duration, which can be coordinated with senior leadership meetings and training programs.
Field Courses based in your Region or State, which last from one to three days.
Washington DC based courses, that include trips to the Capitol and keynote lectures on subjects specific to your agency.

The topics covered by The Woods Institute include but are not limited to:

I. Current Political Party Leaders in the House and Senate of 115th Congress

II.        A Review of the Congressional Committees and Subcommittees with Jurisdiction over Federal Lands

III.       2019 Budget implications for your Agency

IV.      Upcoming Federal versus State Issues
